"Curating Context - Introduction " i Curating Context - Beyond the Gallery and Into Other Fields

    • Uppdragsgivare:Published by Art & Theory, Statens konstråd. Red. M Malm

    Editorial introduction to the anthology.
Curating Context describes a field where curatorial practice is extended beyond the curation of exhibitions and into working with entire contexts. It articulates the why and how of curating art projects that gain their meaning in relation to a surrounding context, or which need a specific structure in order to play out. In this practice, curatorial considerations are interwoven with production, and rather than institutional structures it is the intentions of artists and curators that lead the way.

  • "My Dear Friend" i Imagining the Audience

    • Uppdragsgivare:Riksutställningar, MAP Red M Malm och A Wik

"My dear friend" is a fictional letter elaborating on the role fo the aucdince in the curatorial work.

How does an artist or curator imagine the experience, movement, and mental processes of the individual viewer? And how does this perspective influence the actual artwork and the way the viewer experiences it? In recent years artists working in the field between contemporary art and performance have developed artworks that engage the individual viewer’s body and consciousness.
